Eisenhower High School, IL

Situated on the South Side of Chicago, Eisenhower High School is just as bustling inside its walls as it is outside in the city. The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is now used by a greater diversity of the school community due in large part to the flexibility and versatility of its new furniture. The space now accommodates all types of classes as well as special functions including presentations, community meetings and much more. Designed by Demco, the open concept floorplan maximizes flexibility, which not only meets the school’s current needs, but also those of the rapidly changing future landscape.

The new library has a multitude of seating options and study spaces ranging from casual lounge chairs and café tables to Kite® Mobile Flip Tables and computer stations. The large classroom style space incorporates mobile, tackable divider panels to help separate the space so that it can be used in multiple ways at the same time. Demco interior services experts also created a custom display for Eisenhower High School that features a slatwall panel and a bench for displaying popular materials or monthly topics. Slatwall end panels were selected to provide further display options and to utilize wall space on structural columns — areas that would have otherwise gone unused.

According to LRC Coordinator, Paul Koenig, “Demco interiors was instrumental in providing information on how to equip the space to meet our needs. They guided us through every decision from product selection to finishes.” Very pleased with the end result and reflecting on the entire design process, Paul goes on to say, “I found no other company that even came close to providing the level of service and support that Demco provided.”
