Ann Antolini School, CT

Ann Antolini School is the only elementary school for 3rd to 6th grade students in the town of New Hartford, CT. With a population of roughly 7,000, these students come from a predominantly rural community consisting of farms, homes and parks. When the time came to update the school’s library they turned to Demco for assistance. A great deal of collaboration occurred between Demco interior service experts and school administrators during the planning process to ensure the optimal layout and functionality of the space.

In addition to designing a warm and welcoming library for children there was also a desire to create areas within the space for small and large groups, and for both formal instruction or independent learning. Flexibility of the furniture was a crucial part of the design as the space is frequently used for after-school meetings of various sizes. Students, parents and staff have embraced the new library and its wonderful assets, often commenting about how wonderful the library feels. Students love having multiple places to work or read and now they’re able to work independently in the library without interrupting a whole class lesson.

School Principal Amanda Shaw reflects, “Demco interiors was incredibly helpful from start to finish with design, delivery and setup. The space reflected our vision and turned out better than we could have imagined because we had the input of professionals at Demco.”
