St. Michael Public Library, MN

Demco worked with KKE Architects to develop the shelving specifications for the St. Michael Branch Library of the Great River Regional Public Library System in Minnesota. Maple veneer end panels embedded with aluminum slatwall reveals complement both the Demco Steel shelving and clean lines of the building’s architecture. The addition of the slatwall reveals provides valuable display opportunities for the library staff to merchandise their collection.

Adding a more modern element to the Teen Area, Demco provided mobile TotaLibra Steel Shelving with custom printed acrylic end panels.  The shelving, whose end panel graphics were designed by KKE Architects, becomes an eye catching work of art adding color and interest to the space. On the wall, a custom designed display panel offers a location for the library to share program information with teens.

The children’s collection is stored in low level mobile browsers making it easy for emerging readers to flip through the extensive picture book selection. The light maple wood tones act as a neutral backdrop to highlight the colorful book covers.
