University of Baltimore Law Library, MD

The award-winning, LEED Platinum University of Baltimore law center emphasizes how technology is shaping the way we live and learn. This architectural beauty features a 7-story state of the art library complete with the best of the best in library security and efficiency: RFID technology.

Appropriately placed near exits on floors designated with circulating materials, Demco Self-Check systems provide an intuitive, simple and quick check-out process for students leaving with law resources. RFID security gates are also placed at exits and at the staircases that connect floors within the library to alleviate worry of material loss, especially on un-staffed floors. In addition to collection security and an enhanced check-out process librarians are enjoying other advantages of RFID technology.  With the Demco handheld scanner they’re able to find misshelved materials and locate specific books right in the stacks, with ease!
